WILFRED NORMAN GOOD
FEBRUARY 29, 1936 – APRIL 3, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wilfred Good on April 3, 2023, at Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury at the age of 87. Wilf was born February 29, 1936, in Toronto to parents Norman and Annie Good. Wilf and Barb met through a neighbour on a blind date and fell in love and married 63 years ago in June. She will forever miss his love, company, and partnership. He was loved and will be missed by his children Cheryl (Terry Sheridan) and Brad (Penny). His grandchildren Tyler (Kelsey), Jesse (Heidi), Nick (Palmer), Kaitlin (Chris) & Natalie (Dan) were the apple of his eye and brought a great deal of pleasure, joy and love to his life as did his great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ellie, Colt, Oliver, Ellery, and Isla. Wilf will be dearly missed by Linda and Ed Janicki, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, as they were close family who loved to travel as a foursome. Uncle Wilf will be sadly missed by nephews Scott & Tim Janicki and Family.
Wilf was a marvelous diamond setter and created some exquisite jewelry when working for many years in Toronto for two companies and then on his own for several more. Barb was the luckiest recipient of his beautiful work and he so loved seeing her with it on.
In 1964 Wilf built a ski chalet at Craigleith which was the beginning of a ski life for the whole family, at Alpine Ski Club where many friends for life were made. In 1977 the family decided to try Collingwood as a permanent home as we loved the area so much. The whole family now still lives here with their families.
Wilf’s love of gardening, carpentry and travel were always hobbies on his mind and we sat on our deck for many hours planning his next project. His passion to travel was by cruise ship which took us to many countries including Europe, England, Hawaii, & Brazil. Wilf was a long-time member of the Collingwood Progress Club and the Huron and District Probus Club which he enjoyed.
The family are devastated by Wilf’s passing and will miss him and the simple things like laughter, smiles and all the good things we shared.
